Who Should Attend:
LEA personnel, Administrators, Safety Officers, Chemical Hygiene Officers, Science Consultants, Facilities Managers, School Administrators, Lead Chemistry Teacher / Middle School Science Teacher in the LEA. Each middle / secondary school and the LEA requires a CHO (OSHA).
Course Curriculum:
This information-packed course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide LEA and school personnel with the knowledge and skills to develop and sustain an on-going science laboratory safety program in their LEA and school. This course will “qualify” a chemical hygiene officer as required by 29 CFR 1910.1450 – The Laboratory Standard. This CHO / Facilitator will be able to provide required professional development in science safety for your science K-12 science teachers. They will also be qualified to train all school personnel in 29 CFR 1910.1200 – Hazard Communication which also requires professional development. Your S&SCS trained CHO will be able to answer questions for teachers who have Flinn Safety Certification. Specific differences in state laws from generalities in the Flinn Course will be clarified for CHOs?
Dr. Stroud has provided science safety training in the states: North & South Carolina, Colorado, Arizona, Hawaii and to Fisher Science Education Sales Personnel. She has assessed science laboratories in over 250 middle and secondary schools. She is also presently serving as an “Expert Safety Witness” in a laboratory accident case. Let Dr. Stroud provides the information, knowledge and skills for your school personnel to prevent a laboratory accident.
